Open Records Requests
Hapeville Charter Career Academy is committed to transparency and providing access to public records in accordance with the Georgia Open Records Act.
The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 through § 50-18-77, provides the public with the right to inspect and obtain copies of certain public records maintained by government agencies and public entities. Some records may be protected from disclosure or exempt from release under state or federal law.
If a requested record cannot be released, Hapeville Charter Career Academy will provide the applicable legal basis for withholding the record, as required by law.
How to Submit an Open Records Request
To request access to or copies of public records, please submit your request in writing to Hapeville Charter Career Academy's designated Open Records Officer.
To help us process your request efficiently, please provide as much detail as possible regarding the records you are seeking. This may include:
A clear description of the requested records
Relevant dates or date ranges
Names of individuals, departments, or programs related to the request, if applicable
Your preferred method for receiving responsive records
Your name and contact information

Response Timeline
Once a written request is received by the HCCA Open Records Officer, the request will be reviewed and processed in accordance with the Georgia Open Records Act.
HCCA will provide a response regarding the availability of responsive records within three business days, as permitted by applicable law. If the requested records cannot be produced within that timeframe, the Open Records Officer will provide information regarding the anticipated timeline for production and any other applicable details.
Fees
In some cases, reasonable charges may apply for copying, producing, or retrieving requested records as permitted under Georgia law. If applicable fees are expected, the requester will be notified in accordance with the requirements of the Georgia Open Records Act.
